Happy Pioneer Day!

This is my first Pioneer Day in Utah! Wow, it's a big holiday here! I guess it should be, however, it's new to me coming from Washington where not much is done for this holiday but a ward party. We decided to go to the SLC parade this year. My in-laws have never gone and heard it was one of the biggest and oldest parades in the United States. They were not kidding. We arrived a little late and got back seats. People are serious about this parade. They bring canopies and coolers full of food. At the two hour mark in the sweltering heat we decided we had enough. The parade, at that point, was still going strong. Only a member of the church would truly understand the parade. Stakes made floats, missionaries marched, a float with Brigham Young and the temples, even President Henry B. Eyring drove by....The only thing missing was church music being played by the marching bands. Now wouldn't that have been great.

Picnic

It's summertime! Time for picnics!! I have tried to surprise Carlos with a picnic a couple of times this summer but something always comes up. Last Wednesday, we finally dropped everything and went on a picnic. We went up the Logan Canyon to Second Dam. It was beautiful!

Shower head and Bathroom scale

So today we decided to use more gift cards we just received. We decided to get a new shower head (Carlos hates the one we have currently. He thinks it hits too hard...) and a bathroom scale (I'd rather not look at my weight but I think I need to...) It wasn't hard to pick out either item at the store. Carlos absolutely fell in love with this shower head. It is huge and is supposed to feel like a rainfall. We have it up but haven't taken a shower with it yet. I wonder if it really will feel like a rainfall.........

As for the scale, we picked one that looked like a good scale. We took it out of the box and read the instructions because this one talks about your bmi and calories. The first step asks you to place the scale on a flat, hard surface. It says that carpeted floors might affect accuracy. Opps! We don't have an uncarpeted flat, hard surface ANYWHERE in the house. We have pink carpent even going up the kitchen wall. I like it on the carpet because it tells me I am underweight. Not even close to accurate though! So we put the scale on the counter and it works quite well. I didn't get the information I wanted but it is more accurate. We are going to have to figure this one out......

Bear Lake!!

Spontaneously, Carlos and I went camping. Since the fourth ruined our trip to Bear Lake we decided to go camping there last Thursday and Friday. It was a blast except for a few problems. We got the last campsite. Who knew it was going to be so busy there??? Our site was like a triangle with hills. At first, we put our tent up across the street by the garbage can. There was more space but realized it was a bad spot when we noticed passerby's looking into it and picking it up thinking it was a blown away tent. Luckily our tent wasn't very big so we found a small spot on our lot. Sleeping that night was rough because I got to sleep on a small slope and a bush. That's what camping is for though, right?!

Fourth of July

So for the 4th of July Carlos and I were going to join his family at Bear Lake. I hear it is beautiful there. I have wanted to go there since I moved here last summer. Of course...the weather canceled our plans. Instead we had a barbecue and a killer game of bowling. **Notice the first couple pictures of Carlos. He became the chef and cooked me a lunch of grilled chicken and salsa in tortillas. It was delicious!!

Beware: Disaster Area!!!

I know now why we go on honeymoons! So we can live a week of happy non-stressed fun before you go home to disaster area!
Carlos moved in with me and here is his bedroom!

The next two are of our kitchen and dinning room. Boxes everywhere! We LOVED every gift we got however, we live in a small townhouse with no storage. My job over the next week will be to reorganize everything because I hate seeing stuff hanging out everywhere. We've just made sure we have a path to the kitchen and the computer and life is good!

After many days of taking stubborn stickers of things I was fed up with this sticker on the George Foreman Grill. Carlos wanted to try and told me to 'Prepare to be amazed.' He used his hot air and the sticker came off without a problem. I was amazed and tried this technique on the next item and it didn't work at all. All I got was a laugh from Carlos. Dumb stickers!

Wedding!!

I know this is a month late but since I just started blogging again I thought I would share the pictures with all of you. These are just a few of our day in the beginning of June.
